Man, that’s a small tire.

Somehow between 600lb of people and 800lb of stuff (from lower on the sticker) you need an extra 4-6PSI in the tires?

If that’s the case, we should run them at 20/22psi if you’re alone in the car!

it kind of says right on it. if you fully load the car put the bottom numbers or if you are 4 passengers and under do the lower amount. it’s to keep the proper tread contact with the road. not sure why there is less air in the fronts supporting the engine though

53:47. my guess is that changes with any occupants to more like 50:50 and the extra air in the rear is to support the load of passengers which sit rather far back. also this thing according to wikipedia does .90 lateral g’s!!

53:47 weight distribution so the extra weigh is just for load because the car probably gets closer to 50:50 with people in it. wiki says this thing pulls .9 gs laterally!

So they calculate a max load of 800 lbs based on 4 occupants and 200lbs in the trunk. Interesting...I’m about 125 lbs, but I don’t know many other adults anywhere near that.

I used to have a Chevette, same size tires I believe. They were the tires in the newspaper ads when they shouted out “ONLY 23.99 each!” - that’s right, you could put new tires on all 4 for under $100! They are small, so the change in pressure requirement doesn’t surprise me!

I want to say an A70-13 is around 175/70R13 which is on par for the stock tires on my 85 RX7. I have trouble picturing even a Vega/Chevette on such tiny rubber, especially bias ply

Here’s mine. It gives three different lots of tyre pressures for how the vehicle will be occupied.

And on all different wheel sizes.

It’s on the fuel filler door.

Nobody believes me when I tell them my fully loaded tire pressure. Gets great gas mileage when you inflate it to max load pressures though.

Pretty common. Most of our newer stuff has at least a few different recommendations, all based on wheel/tire size, intended vehicle speeds, and intended load usage. So some will have like 6 sets of pressures, and by set I mean front and rear.

to be honest, 3 guys read that and interpreted it as one pressure for each corner, at all times. we were non-correct. (but we know a lot about cars, I swear)
